Answers are grounded in this repository, indexed and made searchable by the Reusable Asset Toolkit (rat) — a toolkit for discovering and reusing code assets across an organization.

Source is parsed into an AST with tree-sitter and split into meaningful units — functions, classes, structs — keeping their doc comments and decorators.
Each chunk is enriched with LLM-generated descriptions, so code is searchable by intent rather than exact keywords.
Hybrid search (vector embeddings + keyword ranking) surfaces relevant snippets, even from unfamiliar repositories.
The same index is exposed over an MCP server, so AI coding assistants (Claude Code, Kiro, …) can pull validated code patterns straight into the conversation.
Indexing runs on a Git repo and is incremental — only changed files are re-processed, with .ratignore to exclude paths.
